Christmas In The Village

  • Mill Race Historical Village 215 South Griswold Street Northville, MI, 48167 United States (map)

‘Twas thirty-six days before Christmas, our Village was quiet as a mouse.
But, delighted visitors were stirring in our Open House!
Everyone gathered at the Cady Inn, which stood near
In hopes that Father Christmas soon would be here!

Volunteers were busy in every venue
As they diligently planned and toiled on a festive review.
Weavers Cottage shone bright as Guild members performed all over the place
Weaving, knitting, spinning… and don’t forget bobbin lace!

Mark Radeke Skola Choir and Northville Student Strings Orchestra proudly
Gathered at the New School Church to play a few numbers.
While local Girl Scout carolers entertained arriving new-comers.
Smithy demonstrators performed their craft over a fiery hot forge re-creation.
While Basket Guild demonstrators gave cause for serious anticipation.

Jarod Thompson’s angelic mandolin performance couldn’t be better
Beautiful music created truly does matter!
Decorators galore were buzzing about
To welcome visitors to our halls all decked out.

The JM MEAD store is well stocked and quite festive indeed
Stop on by and come see what you’ll need.
Visit the Cady Inn for a scrumptious cream tea
This sweet extra, for a mere small fee.

With the exception of a small per person charge for the tea, this event is free and open to the public.
